This was a Free Day so we could do as much or as little as we wished. There was a little bit of drizzle but not enough to spoil things. Most ambled around St. Helier, with many taking the 'tank engine' to St. Audley and/or the 'paddle duck' across to Elizabeth Castle, whilst others took a bus to another part of the island. We were able to see for ourselves how much Jersey was affected by the tides. It was interesting to see how St. Helier had literally grown over the last 25 years, with land (re)clamation having added a substantial area. We gathered for dinner at 7pm at the hotel.

E15M4A View from a room on the 6th floor at the front of the hotel, looking to the hotel's outdoor swimming area on the other side of the road. Quite a few people made good use of these excellent facilities.
E15M4A Elizabeth Castle in St. Helier. If you timed the tides right you could walk there across the sands. It is thought that none of our group did that! Those who went across to the castle used ...
E15M4B ... a 'Paddle Duck', which was an amphibious bus.
E15M4A The bus service around Jersey appeared to be rather impressive but an extra way of travelling from St. Helier along the coast (west) to St. Aubin, and back, was provided by 'Thomas the Tank Engine'.
